The denomination Simpson founded took this message not only to North America, but also throughout the world. Five movements made up the Third Great Awakening and Simpson's contribution to each one is examined. These five movements include: Evangelizing, Holiness Movement, Healing Movement, Pre-millenial Movement, and Urban and Worldwide Outreach. As this book concludes with a look at Simpson's influence on the church today, we are reminded that as the church goes through the twenty-first century, the Fourfold Gospel continues to be proclaimed just as it was during the Third Great Awakening.

Author Biography

Michael G. Yount was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1955. He and his wife Sue have been married for thirty-three years and have two daughters, Becky and Shelly, and one son, Jamie. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University, a Master of Divinity from Columbia International University, a Master of Theology from Princeton, and a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has been a pastor for thirty-three years.
