In 2023, the author unexpectedly immigrated to Poland to stay close to his young son. Alone and without support, he was overwhelmed with navigating the family court system and the challenge of learning a new language. Driven by love and curiosity, he became an English teacher, connected with bilingual families, and supported global language learners online.
This collection of poems began as reflections on his journey but they began to touch on the universal need to connect, be understood, and communicate. The author shared them, alongside recordings, and then, over time, they also became a tool for language learners-sparking responses, encouraging practice, and fostering genuine connection. Those exchanges enabled the sounds of those learners to be felt, heard, and understood, supporting everyone's goal to, without barriers, communicate.
